Real Estate Titles in Minnesota – Examining Title and Clearing Title Defects was hosted by Minnesota CLE on June 4. This seminar addressed a variety of foundational topics – marketable title, legal descriptions, resolving title defects, actions involving the courts and more – all of which are addressed in the chapters of the new, second edition of the Minnesota Real Estate Titles Deskbook. Each session of this seminar was presented by its respective chapter author.
In his session “Litigating Adverse Claims Based on Matters of Record – Including Declaratory Judgments, Motions for Default Judgment, Actions of Partition, and More!” David Krco discussed using litigation to resolve title disputes. This session and its correlated Deskbook chapter, co-authored with Brad Beisel, include actions by owners and other interest holders to remove clouds on their title, as well as actions to determine rights and obligations that are uncertain or problematic because of recorded documents or surrounding circumstances.
David has a broad practice assisting a diverse range of clients in complex litigation matters and in finding solutions to avoid litigation. David has extensive experience handling litigation and resolving disputes on wide ranging issues from boundary and easement disputes, to multimillion dollar real estate development and construction disputes, to frauds and lease disputes, Native American land issues, and everything else in between.
While the in-person seminar has concluded, an online replay will be available on June 18. For more information, please visit the Minnesota CLE website.
