Yesterday, April 3, Brad Beisel and David Krco spoke at the Minnesota Land Title Association’s (MLTA) Spring Seminar. MLTA offers educational meetings throughout the year for its members who are involved in the production and evaluation of real estate title information and in affiliated professions. The Spring Seminar featured a legislative update followed by discussions of the housing market, fraud, lender relationships, market presence, and foreclosures and forbearance.
In their session “Common Claims: How to Resolve Them, and How to Avoid Them,” Brad and David discussed common real estate title claims that have been arising, and used case examples and practice pointers to help various real estate and title professionals in resolving and avoiding such claims in the first place. Examples included problems recording Torrens documents, non-joinder of spouse or title owner issues, access problems and legal description problems.
Brad focuses his real estate and real estate litigation practice on the representation of title insurance companies, and their corporate and individual insureds in contested and uncontested litigation and the trial and appellate levels. Brad has handled many appeals court cases including several reported cases that have been instrumental in the development of several areas of real estate law in Minnesota.
David has a broad practice assisting a diverse range of clients in complex litigation matters and in finding solutions to avoid litigation. David’s practice focuses on real estate, real estate development, construction, land use, leasing, insurance, and title matters. His clients include individuals, real estate developers, builders, lenders, investors, insurers and their insureds, title companies, and businesses of all sizes.
