The 2025 Real Estate Institute was hosted by Minnesota CLE on October 23-24. This annual conference covers everything new in real estate law, from cases and legislation to title standards and other new developments, while emphasizing the practical ways and tips to apply it in practice.
In their session “New FINCEN Regulations Go Into Effect December 1” David Krco and Brad Hoeschen (Old Republic Title) discussed what the new rules from the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) mean for real estate lawyers. Designed to combat and deter money laundering by increasing transparency in the U.S. residential real estate sector, FinCEN’s final rule requires certain persons involved in real estate closings and settlements to report information about specified transfers of residential real estate that are a high risk for illicit finance.
David’s practice focuses on real estate, construction, land use, and title matters, serving a diverse array of clients consisting of individuals to real estate developers and investors. He is a skilled problem solver and an adept litigator with extensive experience as lead counsel in all phases of litigation in state and federal trial and appellate courts.
While the in-person conference has concluded, an online replay will be available on November 20-21. For more information, please visit the Minnesota CLE website.
