Elizabeth Hartwell Certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Family Trial Law
Best & Flanagan is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Drotning Hartwell has successfully achieved Board Certification as a Family Trial Law advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA).
Approximately 3% of American lawyers are board certified by the NBTA. This achievement recognizes Liz’s deep experience in her family law practice. She joins a growing number of trial attorneys that have illustrated their commitment to bettering the legal profession by successfully completing a rigorous application process. The elaborate screening of credentials that all NBTA board certified attorneys must successfully complete includes: demonstration of substantial trial experience, judicial and peer references, submission of legal writing samples, proof of good standing and an examination.
Liz received her J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), and an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Her practice focuses on all aspects of family law matters, including dissolution, custody and parenting time, post-decree matters, child support, spousal maintenance, complex asset and valuation issues, grandparent/third party custody, parental relocation, and domestic and international parental abduction. A Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice, Liz has frequently worked as a Parenting Consultant, custody evaluator, and court-appointed neutral.
About the NBTA:
The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA) was formed out of a strong conviction that both the legal profession and its clients would benefit from an organization designed specifically to create an objective set of standards illustrating an attorney's experience and expertise in the practice of trial law. Board Certification is the highest, most stringent, and most reliable honor an attorney can achieve. The NBTA as well as all board certifying organizations are committed to safeguarding the public’s ability to choose qualified and experienced legal counsel.
