Joel Schroeder to Moderate Panel on Workplace Investigations at National Labor & Employment Law Conference
Joel Schroeder, a partner in the Employment Law Practice Group and Litigation Section, will be moderating a panel at the Federal Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico on February 22.
The panel, entitled “Best Practices for Handling #MeToo or #Time’sUp Allegations,” will focus on how in-house and outside counsel can be better equipped to respond to allegations of sexual harassment or other inappropriate workplace conduct. The panelists will discuss how employment investigations have changed in the #MeToo era and how legal considerations may no longer be the driving force behind a report or complaint. The panel also will provide tips for handling investigations, including when an investigation should be initiated, who should lead an investigation, best practices for interviewing witnesses, privilege issues, and writing an investigative report.
Panelists include Dawn Blume (Zebra Technologies), Ivelisse Bonilla (Awerkamp, Bonilla & Giles), and David Jiménez, Principal (Jackson Lewis).
