Kumayl Lakha is an intellectual property attorney at Best & Flanagan whose practice spans the full range of IP protection from patent prosecution to trademark registration, copyright and trade secret counseling, for clients ranging from individual inventors to large multinational corporations.
At the center of Kumayl’s patent work is a deliberate approach: he works closely with inventors to understand the original concepts behind their ideas, with the goal of securing coverage that is both broad and practically meaningful. That work spans aerospace, mechanical, software, and electrical technologies. He genuinely enjoys the process of learning each new invention in depth, to generate a robust and complete patent application.
Beyond patent prosecution, Kumayl advises clients on trademark filings and portfolio management, counsels on copyright and trade secret questions, and drafts licensing agreements.
