David Zubke to Present at the GPIGA Annual Conference

David Zubke will present at the Great Plains Indian Gaming Association (GPIGA) Annual Conference on May 21, 2013 at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel on the topic of intellectual asset protection. The presentation entitled, “Intellectual Property and Marketing Law for Tribes and Tribal Enterprises” will cover the basics of trademark, copyright and trade secret laws as they can be applied to intellectual property created and to be owned by tribes, tribal gaming and other tribal commercial enterprises. David will address the steps that should be taken prior to initial creation and use to protect these valuable assets, as well as licensing and other strategies and opportunities, and the audit process for identifying and protecting a tribe’s brands, materials and other intellectual property assets.

They will also discuss enforcement strategies to halt or recover damages for violation of intellectual property rights and basic advertising and marketing laws relevant to tribal or tribal enterprise ads and other marketing communications.
