David Zubke to Present at Upcoming Minnesota School Boards Association Leadership Conference

Best & Flanagan attorney, David Zubke, will be presenting, along with Rockford Area Schools Superintendent, Paul Durand, on Intellectual Property Law for Educators and Administrators at the Minnesota School Boards Association Leadership Conference on January 18, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. in Exhibit Hall B of the Minneapolis Convention Center.

School districts have created and own many valuable logos, names, mascots, seals, crests, slogans and other trademarks and service marks for educational, athletic and other programs, as well as a wide variety of written, online, multimedia and other original works that are subject to copyright protection. This presentation will examine and compare the types of protections available, available remedies in cases where these rights are violated, as well as the use of the retailer licensing to collect royalties and authorize and control proper use of district assets.
