Katie Barrett Wiik Receives Journey of Hope Award from Standpoint

Each year Standpoint, formerly the Battered Women’s Legal Advocacy Project, recognizes the passion and dedication of their partners in advocacy, legal services, and outstanding community service with the Journey of Hope Awards.

For her pro bono appellate work supporting survivors of domestic violence, Katie Barrett Wiik received the Journey of Hope Award in Legal Services. Dedicated to providing pro bono legal services, particularly related to issues of social and gender justice and human and civil rights, Katie has demonstrated her commitment to the anti-violence movement through her empathetic and tenacious legal advocacy.

The change-makers whose efforts to provide safety and justice for domestic and sexual violence survivors are honored each year at Standpoint’s annual celebration, Stand with Standpoint, which will be held October 25, 2019. The Journey of Hope Awards recognize the courage and strength of these individuals and their on-going efforts to provide advocacy and justice, build communities intolerant of domestic and sexual violence, and work to change people’s lives for the better.
