Best & Flanagan’s Government Affairs practice group has a long history of collaborating with key decision makers to accomplish our clients’ goals on legislative and regulatory matters in Minnesota.  The members of our group have all worked extensively in Minnesota Government and at the Capitol on both sides of the aisle.  As experienced advocates, Best & Flanagan’s professionals know how to craft strategic approaches that respond to the challenges and opportunities that state and local governments create for our clients.

The scope of services we provide to our clients includes:

-         Shaping legislation, regulation, and government policy through client lobbying and coordination with members of the legislature, administration officials and key staff members;

-         Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on legislative and regulatory developments;

-         Drafting legislation, position papers, agency comments and testimony;

-         Preparing witnesses for hearings and testifying on behalf of clients before the Minnesota Legislature; and

-         Representing clients before administrative agencies on licensing, rulemaking and investigations.

Best & Flanagan also counsels a diverse group of corporations, labor organizations, tribal and local governments, quasi-governmental entities, political action committees, and candidates for public office on federal and state campaign finance, ethics, election, and lobbying laws.
