Best & Flanagan

Native American Law: Financing

The Firm has experience with sophisticated financing for Tribal gaming, infrastructure and economic development projects. Our attorneys represent Tribes in connection with financing transactions as well as representing various lending institutions that have made loans to or underwritten bonds on behalf of tribes or trustees that have acted as fiduciaries on tribal financing transactions.

The financing projects on which Best & Flanagan lawyers have worked have ranged from, essential government purpose bonds for such projects as health centers, infrastructure improvements, land acquisition and tribal administration buildings to private activity tax exempt bonds for manufacturing facilities to taxable loans for casino improvements. Additionally, the Firm has done taxable loans initiated by banking institutions or by investment banking firms who may participate out the loan to other financial institutions. In some instances, the total financing transactions have involved the issuance of both tax exempt debt and taxable debt.
