Tim Sullivan is a member of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice area. His practice focuses on civil litigation and appeals, primarily in the areas of construction, commercial, employment, probate and real estate disputes. He primarily serves commercial and industrial contractors, owners and subcontractors. Tim also represents physicians and clinics and has served as general counsel to LifeSource (the Upper Midwest Organ Procurement Organization) since its inception. He has worked on many bid disputes, OSHA cases and commercial and construction cases establishing new and helpful principles for his clients. He has extensive experience with estate and shareholder disputes.
Tim’s significant cases include Rice v. Connolly, in which the Minnesota law authorizing off-track betting was found unconstitutional by the Minnesota Supreme Court, Glenwood Bridge v. City of Minneapolis, in which a contractor established a civil rights violation in the letting of public work resulting in an injunction issued by the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals and WDSI v. Steele County, extending the right to seek public data from the designers of public projects.
Tim is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. He has also been included among The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, Construction Litigation and Real Estate Litigation. Specifically in 2014 Best Lawyers named Tim as the 2014 Lawyer of the Year for Construction in Minneapolis, MN. He also has been named a “Super Lawyer” numerous times and is routinely named one of Minnesota’s top construction attorneys by Chambers USA. Tim continues to lecture frequently on construction and health care topics.
In his free time, Tim enjoys curling, agate hunting, beekeeping, travel and activities with his wife and three sons.
