Sarah Crippen Elected Managing Partner

Best & Flanagan is pleased to announce that the partnership has elected Sarah E. Crippen as its Managing Partner. Crippen has previously served on the firm’s Executive Committee, chaired the litigation section and labor and employment law practice, headed the firm’s associate recruiting and mentorship initiatives and served as the firm’s Human Resources Partner.

Crippen began her career at Best & Flanagan almost 25 years ago after working as a summer associate at the firm with Bob Maher, her law school classmate and predecessor as Managing Partner. “What we saw that first summer at the firm was a group of smart, engaging lawyers doing great legal work that centered around close client relationships,” says Crippen. “A seemingly magical combination of warmth, sophistication and engagement is still what sets Best & Flanagan apart. My friend Bob was the best example of that spirit. I hope to lead the firm the way he did, approaching every decision with a focus on our clients, our people, and our culture.”

An experienced trial lawyer and MSBA Certified Labor & Employment Specialist, Crippen will continue her employment and litigation practice while serving as Managing Partner.

Joining Crippen on the firm’s Executive Committee are Patrick Hennessy and E. Joseph LaFave. Hennessy has led Best & Flanagan’s bankruptcy practice for more than 20 years and served on the firm’s Executive Committee for much of that time. LaFave is a senior partner in the firm’s private wealth planning practice, and in addition to chairing that practice group has served in a variety of firm leadership roles throughout his career.
