Cathy Gorlin Participates in Panel Discussion at Elimination of Bias Theatrical Event

Cathy Gorlin, partner in Best & Flanagan’s Family Law practice group, participated in a panel discussion as a part of a performance of A Strange and Separate People on October 27th at the Hillcrest Center Theatre. The program looked at bias in the legal system and in the administration of law and justice as it pertains to gay and lesbian individuals. The storyline of the play served as a springboard for discussion and exploration of bias endemic in our society, and pointedly, in the legal field, including specifically in the areas of family law, employment law, estate and probate law. Cathy Gorlin addressed the same sex marriage law which went into effect August  1, 2013, the family law issues that same sex couples face and the different considerations for same sex couples in association with pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements as well as marriage dissolutions, http://www.startribune.com/entertainment/stageandarts/227733901.html.
