Tim
Sullivan is a member of the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution
practice area. His practice focuses on civil litigation and
appeals, primarily in the areas of construction, commercial, employment,
probate and real estate disputes. He primarily serves commercial
and industrial contractors, owners and subcontractors. He
also represents hospitals, physicians and clinics and has served
as general counsel to LifeSource (the Upper Midwest Organ Procurement
Organization) since its inception. He has handled disputes
throughout the Midwest as well as in Alabama, Mississippi, Massachusetts
and Washington D.C.
Tim recently
represented heirs in a Minnesota trust contest. His strategy
resulted in a unique division of a family compound on Cape Cod in
which his clients received property worth $10 million.
Other significant cases included Rice v. Connolly, in which
the Minnesota law authorizing off-track betting was found unconstitutional
by the Minnesota Supreme Court. In Glenwood Bridge v.
City of Minneapolis, a contractor established a civil rights
violation in the letting of public work resulting in an injunction
issued by the 8 th Circuit Court of Appeals. Tim's client
was awarded the job plus monetary damages and attorneys' fees.
He has worked on many bid disputes, and commercial and construction
cases establishing new and helpful principles for his clients.
He is a frequent lecturer on construction and healthcare topics.
For
his work, he has been named a Super Lawyer by Minnesota Law
& Politics numerous times.
In his free time, Tim enjoys curling, agate hunting, travel and
activities with his wife and three sons.
