Cynthia Hegarty
is a member of the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice
area. With a practice focusing on bankruptcy litigation and commercial
collections, Cynthia serves clients such as bankruptcy trustees,
banks, corporations and individuals. Her recent litigation
experience involves trustee fraudulent conveyances and preference
actions, commercial loan collection and real estate mortgage foreclosures.
She also represents lenders and other creditors in commercial contractual
disputes.
Additionally,
Cynthia has substantial experience working with the insurance industry.
She litigates coverage disputes on behalf of both insurers and policyholders,
and advises insurers regarding regulatory matters.
Her pro bono
work includes working with the Pro Bono Consortium and the New Orleans
Pro Bono Project to assist those affected by Hurricane Katrina in
resolving title issues through succession. She also counsels and
represents individuals in insurance-related matters.
Cynthia takes
an active role in civic and community affairs, serving on the Board
of Trustees for the Minnesota/Dakotas chapter of the Crohn's and
Colitis Foundation of America (2006-present), serving as the PTO
co-chair for the District 112 Kindergarten Center ('06-'07), and
volunteering with her daughter's Brownie Troup. The parents of three
young children, Cynthia and her husband, Brian, are actively involved
in their kids' activities and enjoy volunteering at their
schools.
