Dan Grimsrud is an associate in the firm's business law section. Dan works with closely held businesses in a wide variety of industries, providing practical advice on a range of issues including choice of entity and formation, contract and regulatory matters, transition planning and mergers and acquisitions. Dan relies heavily on a strong background in taxation and finance to provide the firm's clients with helpful guidance on a variety of complex issues, from the creation and funding of tax friendly operational structures to the planning and design of tax-free reorganizations.

In addition Dan works closely with attorneys in the firm's litigation section to identify and implement practical solutions to disputed matters, including shareholder disputes and contract issues. He is also a member of the Native American Law Section, and works closely with the other attorneys in that section to provide the firm's Native American clients with advice on tax related matters.

Dan is proud to be a part of the Best & Flanagan team serving as pro-bono outside counsel to the Family Advocacy Center of Northern Minnesota, a hospital-based center providing comprehensive, culturally sensitive physical and mental health treatment for victims of child abuse, sexual abuse and family violence in northern Minnesota.
