Len Addington is a member of the firm's Business
Law and Private Wealth Planning practice areas. He has over
40 years of experience assisting business clients on a range of
matters, including acquiring, selling and merging businesses, business
financing, product marketing/distribution, and regulation compliance
issues. Len also practices in the area of Registered Investment
Adviser Law. He advises business owners in the selection of
entity, capitalization and finance, governance, issuance of securities,
and contract negotiations. His business clients primarily are small
to mid-sized manufacturing, distribution, or computer related companies,
a number of which operate throughout the United States and around
the world.
Len also has extensive experience in complex estate planning, trust
matters, family limited partnerships, and non-profit organization
work. He represents individuals in connection with asset
protection planning, including formation of trusts and gifting of
assets, and develops estate plans for high net worth individuals,
including minimizing tax costs on the transfer and receipt of assets.
Len has served as a member of the Board of Directors of The James
R. Thorpe Foundation, as a Senior Warden of St. Mark's Episcopal
Cathedral in Minneapolis and as Bishop's Chancellor for the Episcopal
Diocese of Minnesota. He was a Lieutenant in U.S. Naval Reserve
from 1961-1966. In his free time, Len reads widely and enjoys
outdoor activities, travel, and music.
